Whitewash: "to gloss over or cover up vices, crimes or scandals or to exonerate by means of a perfunctory investigation or through biased presentation of data". This series of 13 prints, are unique individual collages of one inch strips from the 131 national flags used to represent the more than 3000 participants in the WORDS Project. A cross-section of the participants’ answers are embedded in each of the 13 words used for the project: peace, war, love, environment, freedom, religion, democracy, government, happiness, socialism, capitalism, future, and United States. Their candid answers reflect opinions on the concepts underpinning globalization and its impact on them as well as society or culture and which, more often than not, stand in contrast to the endorsement of globalization by their respective political and business leaders.
