Accompanying Brian Dailey’s “Lone Wolf” performance, is a series of 10 collages that invites further reflection on the nuances and themes of independent thought, resiliency, and creativity in contemporary society. These collages were exhibited along side the Lone Wolf performance conducted in May of 2024, at the Karpuchina Gallery in Prague. The Performance work created a space for viewers to engage in these themes despite the pressures of societal conformity, tribalism, and groupthink caused in large measure by the immense influence of social media and the emerging and uncontrolled power of artificial intelligence.

Whither Human Existence?
Using select works from the WORDS on WORDS project — government, capitalism, socialism, and future — these four panels were used for collages that highlight a critical question about the future role of artificial intelligence in society. These three structural elements of society play crucial roles in determining the direction, extent, and future questions of human existence amid the onslaught of AI. Will governments and their respective economic systems supporting them fulfill their duty to provide the necessary restraints and guardrails to safeguard human existence, or will they shirk their responsibilities as ineffective institutions unable to manage the implications and direction of AI? At this crossroads, we are required to question whether our institutions have the will to embrace their roles to ensure that we reap the tremendous benefits of AI, rather than descending into a dystopian future. As Marshall McLuhan once observed: “We shape our tools and thereafter our tools shape us”.
